Mathira Mohammad better known as Mathira is a Pakistani model, dancer, television host, singer, and actress. She has hosted several television shows and appeared in music videos. Mathira is known for her Item songs in Main Hoon Shahid Afridi and the Indian Punjabi film Young Malang.

Recently, Mathira took to her Instagram to address the issue of body-shaming. Before posting her concern, she spoke a few days back about how she has been called ‘plastic’ for the way she looks. Mathira’s curvy body also does not sit well with many Pakistanis who believe that women look the best when they are slim. When it comes to celebrities, the netizens are extra expressive and consider it their right to bash someone in the most outrageous way.

So, Mathira shared an Instagram story talking about the unsought advice she gets from people, even women, regarding her skin colour. People have even recommended Mathira to use skin whitening injections.

She said “I have realized people will always shame me when I wear a fully covered dress, I am shamed on my colour…so what if I am BROWN. I am named shamed for my colour, my weight, what is wrong with our society?”

She also said Why do we like pushing people to the edge mentally forcing them to break down! It’s not at all cool. Women have sent me DMs to use whitening injections, lol I can surely afford them but I don’t want to be white. I am a proud brown thick girl living life freely.”

Mathira concluded with how she is “not ashamed to be brown”. Moreover, she highlighted the need for the time to change views in this regard and stop body-shaming for weight and skin tone.
