Yerevan: Armenian and Azerbaijani forces have clashed over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which has strained the situation in the region between the two countries, while Russia also has immediate intervention in the war and has appealed to stop the war.
According to the Associated Press, Armenia claims to have shot down two Azerbaijani helicopters, and a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense says three Azerbaijani tanks have also been targeted and confirmation of damages has been received. Armenia accuses Azerbaijan of carrying out attacks and shelling. Armenia has immediately declared martial law to deal with the situation and has intensified preparations to deploy all its troops on the border. Because of this situation, Russia has immediate intervention and request for the ceasefire with Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Armenia and Azerbaijan were both parts of the Soviet Union before 1991, but the two countries have been fighting over Nagorno-Karabakh for more than three decades.
