So far in 2022, more than 26,000 people have been bitten by dogs in Karachi.

Stray dogs rule the streets of light city and the Karachi administration has failed to deal with the problem.

According to official statistics, 9,829 civilians were brought to JPMC (Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre) with dog bites, 7,733 people were taken to Civil Hospital and 9,000 were injured in Indus Hospital.


All 83.6% were males and 16.4% were females who reported being injured by a dog bite while 32% were under 14 years of age while 68% of victims were over 14 years of age.

78% of the victims were injured by stray dogs and 22% by domesticated dogs and cats.
