A mother of two kids was robbed and raped at gunpoint in Gujjarpura near Lahore Motorway on Wednesday. The victim was reportedly traveling in a car and her two children when her fuel ends at midnight around 1:30 Am. Some unknown accused gang-raped the woman in the fields as she came out of the vehicle. After raping and robbing her, the criminals escaped from the spot.
The police later reached the spot and shifted the woman to the hospital. The woman told the police that she is a resident of the Defence Housing Society, and her husband works abroad. The police struggled to identify the rapists through CCTVs installed in the city as part of the Safe City project.
Women also tried to call the Motorway Police’s emergency helpline 130 for assistance. However, she was told by the operator that she could not be provided help as the emergency beat had not been assigned to anyone. The alleged rapists also snatched away Rs100,000, gold ornaments, and ATM cards from the victim before fleeing.
