The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team in Karachi has arrested Makhdoom Jalil-ul-Zaman, son of Makhdoom Amin Fahim, in a significant operation, NAB sources said. Makhdoom Jalil-ul-Zaman was arrested from his house near the superhighway on charges of corruption.
According to NAB sources, NAB had issued summons to Makhdoom Jalil-uz-Zaman in August. Despite the NAB’s notice, Makhdoom Jalil-uz-Zaman did not appear. Al-Zaman alias Makhdoom Habibullah has been the Nazim of Hala taluka. According to NAB officials, Makhdoom Habibullah allegedly conspired with former Hyderabad treasury officer Mushtaq Sheikh to commit crores of rupees. Mushtaq Sheikh mentioned Makhdoom Habibullah’s name during interrogation.
