No one bothers to highlight 800 acid attacks reported in the UK, films made on three cases reported in Pakistan wins Oscar by sharmeen- DG Rangers
“We are not terrible at all, but when someone attempts to disparage us, we start thinking about being bad,” said Iftikhar Hussain Chaudhry, DG Rangers Sindh,
“No one knew about the 800 acid attacks that happened in London, and no one made a film about it” but when three acid attacks occurred in Pakistan, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy made a film about it and, amazingly, won an Oscar for it.”
“Moreover, 1638 robberies occur in London compared to 280 in Karachi; we are simply being depicted as evil when we are not,” said DG Rangers Sindh.
Indeed true, Pakistan is a selective target of Western media in order to smear Pakistan’s image and undermine its sovereignty, despite the fact that Western conditions are significantly worse in terms of human rights breaches and other crime rates. Unfortunately, it is our own nationalists who are peddling this agenda-driven rhetoric.
