The opposition parties due to their internal rifts and unending differences have failed to get the chairmanship of any important committee in the upper house of the parliament.
Instead of giving tough time to the government side through heading the important committees in Senate, the opposition parties failed to get the chairmanship of any committee.
Meanwhile, many politicians believe that the failure of the opposition parties to get the driving seat of any important committee was a huge setback for them which will directly edge the government.
While talking to Pak Affairs a senator of Jamiat Ulema e Islam (JUI) without disclosing his name said that due to the internal differences, the opposition parties failed to get the chairmanship of any important committee in the senate.
The senator stated that JUI had five senators in the senate and they got only two committees; saying that the Azaad Group headed by Senator Dilawar Khan got five committees which were beyond thinking.
It must be noted that surprisingly all the eight senators elected from Baluchistan got the chairmanship of eight different committees and I proved that the lobby of the government side within the senate defeated that of oppositions.
