The first reverse vending machine (RVM) of its kind has been launched on Saturday at the Jinnah Supermarket in Islamabad for plastics at the federal capital. A simple but impressive ceremony took place here on Saturday at the Jinnah Super Market in Islamabad.

RVM for plastics has been unveiled at the posh Jinnah Supermarket in the presence of Malik Amin Aslam, Prime Minister’s Special Advocate for Climate Change. The machine makes the on-the-go recycling of plastic bottles from any brand convenient and rewarding. The RVM itself is like a reverse seller. Consumers press the start button in the contact screen and the RVM opens a slot for the plastic bottle to be received. The RVM compresses PET once deposited in order to be ready for further recycling stages.
