Pakistan has gave an ultimatumA larger bench headed by Chief Justice Atharmanullah of the Islamabad
High Court heard the government’s request to appoint a lawyer for Indian spy
Kulbhushan Yadav. The Attorney General argued that a legal representative
should be appointed for Kulbhushan Yadav to implement the decision of the
International Court of Justice.

Attorney General of Pakistan Khalid Javed Khan added that on
August 6, the Foreign Ministry contacted India, but no response has been
received from India so far. He also told the court that the Indian spy had also
reiterated his old position that he did not want to take any advantage of the
ordinance.

Khalid Javed Khan argued that there could be two cases. The court should appoint a lawyer for Kulbhushan, and the other is that India’s response should be awaited, Pakistan should abide by the International Court of Justice’s decision. It is ready for, but India is becoming an obstacle to review we have offered India consular access for the third time, which still exists, although it did not respond to the offer.

In his remarks, Chief Justice Athar Minallah said that when Clubbhushan and India themselves do not want to appeal, how can the appeal proceedings be practical? A review appeal can only be effective if Kalubbhushan himself intends to appeal.

The court said that an appeal without his consent would be an exercise in finalizing the sentence handed down to him. Would it not be appropriate to offer India again under the principles of a fair trial?

Attorney General Khalid Javed Khan said that India had appointed a lawyer Shah Nawaz Noon to look into or obtain documents in Pakistan, but it did not have any Indian license or power of attorney Ordering another offer of consular access, he said the hearing was adjourned until
October 6.
