An unfortunate incident happened this morning, at least 30 people were killed after the Sir Syed Express train collided with a Millat Express between Reti and Daharki railway stations in Ghotki in Pakistan.
According to reports Sir Syed Express train, which was heading towards Lahore collided with the Millat Express which was derailed on the way to Sargodha from Karachi.
According to Ghotki Deputy Commissioner Usman Abdullah, around 13 to 14 bogies derailed while six to eight were “completely destroyed”.

A rescue operation is underway at the site of the crash and the injured are being shifted to hospitals. Army and Rangers troops are assisting in the relief and rescue operation.

The injured have been shifted to Taluka Hospital Rohri, Panu Aqil, and Civil Hospital Sukkur for immediate medical treatment.
The railway authorities have formed an investigation committee, being headed by a 21-grade officer to probe the crash and they have also announced Rs1.5 million each for the heirs of those killed in the accident.
Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in the Ghotki train accident and ordered a “comprehensive investigation” into it and instructed Railways Minister Azam Swati to arrive at the site and help the injured with the provision of medical assistance.

Meanwhile taking notice of the incident, Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Azam Khan Swati has ordered an immediate inquiry and sought an initial report within 24 hours.
