Pakistani-born German Geneticist Asifa Akhtar has been elected as Vice President of the Department of Biology and Medicine at the famous Max Planck University in Germany. She has become the first woman in the history of society to reach this position.

Meanwhile, Asifa Akhtar, who was born in Karachi, the weekly scientific journal ‘Nature’ has written that Dr. Asifa has a prominent place in the German science community with her extraordinary research. Chromosomes and Epigenetics are their specialties. After being honored as Vice President, She will also manage 27 institutes and 7 research laboratories under the Society.

However, Dr. Asifa Akhtar received her early education and did her BSc from University College London. He received his doctorate from the present Francis Kirk Institute. After his doctorate, he worked on chromatin at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory. He is currently the editor of the research journal Cell Science.

While, Under the Society’s Department of Medicine and Biology, all institutions are conducting high-quality research on living bodies, development, emotions, and other matters. Most of the Society’s institutions under the Nature Index are also Germany’s most standardized scientific institutions. Nature says Asifa Akhtar’s choice will inspire a new generation of scientists.
