The Counter-Terrorism Department has foiled a plot to attack the Islamabad Stock Exchange by arresting three terrorists. The Counter-Terrorism Department of Punjab Police has arrested three terrorists in Rawalpindi based on intelligence information.
The CTD said that the terrorists were arrested from Adiala Road on a tip-off, and explosives and weapons were also recovered from their possession. The terrorists belonged to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and received funding and guidance from Afghanistan.
The CTD spokesman further said that the arrested terrorists have confessed to Rawalpindi’s four terrorist incidents. Besides, the terrorists had also planned to attack the Islamabad Stock Exchange.
It may be recalled that a grenade attack took place in Rawalpindi yesterday in which 25 people were injured. A case of the incident has also been registered.
