PM directs the implementation of SC verdict on release of Under-trial and convicted women prisoners

Prime Minister Imran Khan in a tweet, on Wednesday directed for instant implementation of a Supreme Court’s order, concerning to release of under-trial women prisoners, accomplish the criteria of the adjudication.

Prime Minister Imran khan referring to order 299/2020 of the supreme court said He gave the directive after a meeting with officials of the Ministry of Human Rights, the Attorney General of Pakistan, and legal expert Barrister Ali Zafar. The Ministry of Human Rights had presented its committee’s report to Prime Minister on August 26 about ‘Plight of Women in Pakistan’s Prisons’.
Prime Minister said; “I have also asked for immediate reports on foreign women prisoners and women on death row for humanitarian consideration,”
