The Punjab government has announced a special campaign to prevent typhoid.
EPI Director Dr. Bashir Ahmed in a statement said that the campaign in Punjab will be launched in two phases. The first phase campaign will start from February 1 in 12 districts of Punjab.
In which children from 9 months to 12 years of age will be vaccinated against typhoid. Dr. Bashir Ahmed said that the second phase of the campaign will start in May in 24 districts of Punjab. After which Pakistan will become the third country in the world to vaccinate against typhoid.He said “Typhoid vaccines will be given free of cost. Typhoid vaccines are safe for children,”
EPI Director Dr. Bashir Ahmed added that parents must vaccinate their children against typhoid during the campaign.
