According to province Minister of Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal, the government is developing Punjab into a center for investment, trade, and economic activities.
The minister stated that local and global companies were investing in Punjab due to a favorable business climate, speaking at the 35th Annual General Meeting of Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA). In the last three years, the government has developed 23 small industrial estates in Punjab, as well as 13 Special Economic Zones, he said.
“Increasing investment in the country is a vote of confidence in the prime minister’s economic plans,” he explained.

The minister promised businessmen that the Punjab Board of Investment will assist investors and promote investment, describing the new industrial zones as a great indicator for progress.
“The Punjab government is committed to assisting industrialists and investors in strengthening economic activity and increasing employment possibilities,” he said, citing the prime minister’s goal.
“The government thinks that the only way to achieve economic revolution is through trade promotion, and it is providing all possible support to the export industry in order to achieve maximum growth,” the minister continued. He referred to the textile industry as the “backbone” of the economy and promised to take steps to improve it.
