The Supreme Court directed the prosecution on Monday to provide material evidence against Asmat Adamjee, the mother of murderer Zahir Jaffer, who is the main suspect in the Noor Mukadam murder case.
The judge made the remarks while hearing a petition on the bail pleas of Zahir Jaffer’s parents in the Noor murder case.
The hearings were overseen by a three-judge panel chaired by Justice Umar Ata Bandial and including Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Qazi Amin.
During the hearing, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah asked why the accused’s mother, Ismat Zakir, was included in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) decision. Justice Bandial then pointed out that her name was not included in the ruling.
Khawaja Haris, the parent’s lawyer, informed the court that Zahir Jaffer was the accused in the case and that his parents were in Karachi at the time of the murder.
