During an Intelligence -based search operation two terrorists were killed, while a soldier was martyred in Spinwam area of North Waziristan tribal district, said Inter-Services Public Relations said on Saturday.
As a result of an intense exchange of fire, the two terrorists were eliminated, the ISPR said, adding that the slain terrorists were affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
“Killed terrorists were active members of TTP in Spinwam, North Waziristan, and involved in terrorist activities against security forces,” the military’s media wing said.
During the IBO, a soldier of Pakistan Army Naik Nazakat Khan embraced martyrdom. Naik Nazakat Khan, 32, was a resident of Attock district.
Militants were driven out from the tribal districts in military operations, but still terrorists sometimes attack the security forces from their leftover hideouts. The security forces also conduct IBOs after receiving credible information about presence of militants to ward off any threat of attacks.
