Sugar scandal; Extension of interim bail of Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen
Lahore: In the sugar scandal case, the court extended the interim bail of Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen.
Lahore Banking Court Judge Amir Muhammad Chaudhry heard the interim bail application of Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen in the sugar scandal case. On this occasion, the FIA prosecutor argued that the interim bail application of Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen is present. The courts do not have jurisdiction, the accounts of the employees of Jahangir Tareen’s sugar mills were used for money laundering. Lawyer Jahangir Tareen said that we will give some more documents to the investigating officer next week. Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen have joined the investigation.
After hearing the arguments of the parties, the court extended the interim bail of Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen till April 17 and sought arguments from the FIA and the parties on the jurisdiction, while the Sessions Court extended the interim bail of both till April 22.
Jahangir Tareen was accompanied by a large number of members of the National Assembly and workers on the occasion of his appearance in the court. Speaking to media on the occasion, Jahangir Tareen said that the inquiry against him was not transparent and therefore formed an impartial committee to investigate.
