The groom who married as a boy was declared a girl, criminal proceedings were ordered.

RAWALPINDI: The court has ordered criminal proceedings against a groom who got married as a boy. Justice Sadiq Mahmood Khurram of the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench heard the case regarding the alleged marriage of two Taxila girls. According to the records available in the alleged groom Ali Akash Badi Nazar, was declared as a girl.

Delivering the verdict, the court ordered that criminal action be taken against the accused groom Ali Akash alias Asma. Her identity card was blocked by including her name in the ECL. The court also issued a permanent warrant for the accused.

On the other hand, the court met the father and mother of the alleged bride Neha Ali on the court’s order. The court rejected the request to hand over the alleged bride to an NGO in Lahore and ordered that the girl goes with her parents whenever she wants. The likely bride also refused to go to the NGO.
