Baluchistan, the largest province and the one that is full of all types of minerals. The province that supplies Gas, Oil, Minerals and is the mother of Gwadar (the carrier of the port that is going to be the future of Pakistan). The resources of Baluchistan are not only limited to the list mentioned above, they are much more than that.
But this province, the province of the hard working, valiant and brave Baloch people lacks almost everything; the people of Baluchistan have been deprived of almost every major necessity of life. Adding to it they are sometimes even deprived of life, killed by unknown men, killed by unknown terrorists I would say because terrorists are the only people who kill people without reason, terrorists kill people without reasons.
Muhammad Hayat Baloch, a student of Karachi University was killed brutally in Turbat, Baluchistan on Thursday, August 13, giving Baloch’s another day of grief and sorrow.
Just a little independent investigation has been done yet, but the brother of the deceased told in an interview that Hayat reveals that the FIR registered at the Turbat City police station, some FC Corps personals is behind the killing of this innocent soul and two of them have been arrested and are behind bars.
Murad says that my brother had been killed deliberately and that he was an innocent boy with no controversial links. He further said that they dragged him to the road side and beat him up there and then brought him home and killed him in front of our parents.
Both, the mother and father of the deceased are in shock and the mother has fallen sick because of the shock.
Murad said that he is not aware of any similar cases happened before but that this was indeed a deliberate killing by the FC personnel. He further claimed that Hayat was gunned down by the FC personnel as an act of retribution for the explosion.
Several eyewitnesses also confirmed Hayat’s brother’s account of the incident. One eyewitness said that the incident happened after a Frontier Core (FC) convoy passing through the Absar area of Turbat and was attacked by a roadside bomb injuring three FC personnel.
Initially, the Baluchistan police maintained that Hayat Baloch was killed by the roadside bomb targeting the FC personnel, as published in English Daily Dawn.

As soon as the social media specially twitter saw the anger of the people and the issue went viral, authorities were compelled to change their stance. The new report claims that Muhammad Hayat Baloch was mistakenly killed by FC personnel when they were carrying out an area sweep following the attack on the convoy. The authorities also claimed that a new investigation has been launched into the incident.
“I saw the FC personnel beating him near the main road,” said an eyewitness. “Whenever he tried to speak, they would hit him even more.”
“This is a regular feature, and whenever an act of terrorism takes place, young men especially university students were picked up by the FC on baseless suspicions and tortured” , claimed Mahrang Baloch. Mahrang has been part of the students’ rights protests and has faced the wrath of the authorities herself in the form of unwarranted arrest.
“His body was then shifted to the Turbat district hospital but was not handed over for the longest time to the family until the community people protested,” she added. “There is also no FIR until now that has been public and the police have been saying that if they do file an FIR, it will be against unknown persons.”
His friends and teachers have taken to twitter to condemn the killing of a bright and empathetic student.
The Human Rights Council of Baluchistan (HRCB) also reiterated these claims. According to the spokesperson Abdullah Abbas, Hayat was killed after being tortured by security personnel. Abdullah out rightly rejected the officials claim that Hayat was killed in crossfire.
Human rights activists from all across the country has taken the killing seriously and are raising the issue on different social media platforms as the electronic and print media doesn’t pay any attention to the killing of such innocent people.
It’s not about one Muhammad Hayat Baloch, it’s not about one family, it’s the story of every second home in Baluchistan, FATA and Occupied Kashmir, the only difference between the first two and the latter is that the first two are killed by unknown (though they are known) terrorists and the later are killed by India’s terrorist army.
May Allah Almighty bless the departed soul of Muhammad Hayat Baloch and the ones who have gone before him and protect each and every one of us from the evil of such terror activities, AMEEN!
