According to Mushtaq’s brother, the dispute started when Mushtaq removed Ashfaq from the group after an argument. The two had agreed to meet and settle the matter, but Ashfaq allegedly showed up with a gun and opened fire, killing Mushtaq on the spot.
Police say Ashfaq was furious over his removal from the group, which led to the fatal shooting.
Frequent access to firearms, deep-rooted tribal traditions, and weak law enforcement often play a role in such violent incidents.
